Oaks, Oklahoma is a small town located in the eastern part of Payne County. It has an estimated population of around 400 people and is part of the Stillwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1891 when a group of settlers from Texas arrived and established a post office. Oaks was named after one of the settler’s hometowns in Texas.

The town is served by two main highways, US-177 and SR-33, which connect it to other towns in Payne County as well as Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and other nearby cities. Oaks also has its own school district which serves the area’s students from grades K-12. The school district is known for its excellent academic performance and has won several awards over the years.

One of the most popular attractions near Oaks is Keystone Lake State Park which is located just outside of town. This park offers plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, boating, swimming, camping and more. There are also many historical sites located nearby which include Civil War battlefields and Native American burial mounds.
