Ness City, Kansas is a small rural community located in the northwest corner of Kansas. It is located in Ness County and has a population of just over 1,000 people. The city was founded in 1872 by John G. Ness and has since become an important farming center for the area.

The city’s economy is largely based on agriculture and livestock production. Corn, wheat, sorghum, alfalfa, soybeans and millet are all produced in the area. Cattle ranching is also an important part of the local economy as well as hog farming.
